Documenting the Struggles of Maine's Lobster Industry

In addition to the challenges posed by environmental factors, lobstermen also face increasing regulations from the government. However, there is good news on this front. The recently passed federal spending bill includes a provision that gives Maine lobstermen a temporary reprieve from new regulations. The provision will provide a six-year pause on new regulations, giving the industry time to recover and adapt to the changing landscape.

This is a critical win for the lobster industry, and a step in the right direction towards ensuring its survival. The Maine lobster industry is a vital part of the state's economy and culture, and it is essential that we do everything in our power to support it.
